Personally, I believe that it may incorporate some component of OBJ technology, but in the larger scheme of things it's still years away from commercialization, so either way it wouldn't have much impact on where OBJ will be 12-24 months from now. Imo.

hi abdm. I watched that presentation on the nanopatch you posted some days ago. I believe the speaker indicated that the patch could be removed about 1 minute after it was applied. If it acts that quickly, then there may be no need for OBJ technology in this implementation. I would expect, however, that as microneedle approvals and implementations grow, that there will be plenty more challenging cases where OBJ technology will be required to make the microneedle practical to use. Afterall, a doctor/health care professional will probably need to be with the patient for the duration of the drug delivery, otherwise they can't claim it was completed (e.g. signing off on immunizations). They won't be wanting to clog up their rooms with people sitting around for 20 or 30 minutes waiting to remove the patches. Enter OBJ.

Hi abdm,
This was taken from the Vaxxas website -
Vaxxas - Nanopatch
I am not saying that our technology is involved but maybe worth thinking about.
Cheers

Maybe that is why the latest obj presentation shows hotdot and measured dose applicators under bodyguard.

Australian intradermal influenza vaccine uses 10% of the dose of the normal vaccine, and initially cost more, now 4 yrs later the same. There is no assurance that it works in the over 59ers or below 18s, over due to differing immune response, under 18 as it was not tested for the usual reasons.
the nano patch would be dispensed I would think by the pharmacy and signed off by them and done by the patient at home, or in the pharmacy the way things are going, so that step is tricky to evaluate. Waiting around would not be a consideration ( unfortunately ) and the efficacy would be measured and errors found years later in all probability. So if the authorities have their way it might be a while ( years ) before this kind of tech gets the go ahead without the doctor in the middle( I am guessing) but it makes sense.
I do like the pt controlled OBJ dose applicator skin delivery gadget they are working on, it has me quite intrigued and got me into the company. The less controlled cosmetic industry is the smart way to get runs on the board, all these other issues become icing on the cake in 5 yrs when the revenue stream is visible and reliable.
