My Memories Of Bob Hawke, Great Bloke And Aussie Prime Minister

I met Bob on several occasions; all special, deeply personal, highly memorable. Two highlights:

First, in 1987 with my wife & son (then 8) at Coburg Town Hall at a Labor Party function. Bob was in fine fettle, in very high demand, but still found time to share personal time with us...and especially our son.

Leapfrog to early 1990s when I was Honorary Consul General For The Philippines For Victoria. Our paths crossed at several functions-in Canberra & Victoria. Again & again, Bob always found time to make you feel/be very special. The "only one" in the room, so to speak.

To see Bob at close quarters "work the room" was sheer magic.

To meet & feel it personally, electrifying.

    Visionary. Leader. Humanitarian.

Qualities required as Australia enters worst economic recession in late 2019.

Vale Bob. Thanks for the memories from my wife, son & I for making us feel special. It's a very rare talent, just as you were. Cheers.
