With Range's 100% owned forrestania tenements bordering Western Areas, it might be time to start promoting them.

WESTERN Areas (WSA) has told the market it is on to a good thing at its Spotted Quoll nickel deposit.

It says the deposit could match its flagship Flying Fox nickel mine in size and grade. The Perth miner said drilling above and below the mineral resource at Spotted Quoll had returned high-grade nickel intersections. Shallow drill holes 400m to the east of Spotted Quoll had also returned narrow intersections of nickel mineralisation, pointing to possible further discoveries around the deposit, it said. In September, Western Areas announced a mineral resource estimate for Spotted Quoll of a total 1,045,900 tonnes at an average grade of 7.2 per cent nickel for 75,140t contained nickel. Based on current reported mineral resources and ore reserves, Spotted Quoll and Flying Fox -- in the Forrestania Nickel project, 400km east of Perth -- were two of the highest grade nickel deposits in the world, the company said. Its shares were $4 last week.
