Don't worry about unrest in the mainland mate~ I give you a few reasons:
1. The Chinese elite decided to sacrifice freedom for unification, stability and this is sort of agreed by the mass and forced upon to those who disagree anyway.
2. Freedom of expression is not the no.1 priority in Chinese culture and society.
3. People too busy making money rather than thinking about changing course of political system or leadership.
4. Like it or not anyone or anything that poses the risk of 'not resting' good enough will disappear before any problem is noticeable. It's like a perfectly functioning immune system wipes out minor infections.
5. People in HK are really complaining about their living condition and economic prospects. Giv~em everything they asked won't improve anything. There's a great likelihood that things will even got worse for them. Mainland's been subsidising and favouring HK pretty much since genesis. It's willing to do so because of face and no.1. Given the current economic status of China it doesn't really need another city/financial hub like HK. It's all bout unity, national pride and face.
