    lols the government is trying to prevent a stale mate in the deal for Liddell.

    I guess AGL dont want another player stepping in and further challenging their position in the market. A some 50 year old asset, high polluting, valued at over $1bn. Supposedly that provides "cheap and reliable" . Oldmate Mr Turnbull has stressed the need for a baseload supply, but the EMO has told the Government that the nation's energy sector is changing fast and baseload is not so important. Could gas be the option once the dust from the demolition of Liddell has settled?
