Presents a forum with an operator in China

Sino Mining Exec Chairman - Nick Curtis

    Sino is China's First Mining

    Foreign Investment Success

‘Come on in the water’s fine!’ is the message from the world’s first confirmed mining foreign investment success in China’s minerals sector. It sounds astonishing but Sydney former Macquarie Bank director - and now Sino Mining Ltd Chairman - Nick Curtis rates China as ‘the best place in the world to mine’? Have we missed something here! It certainly looks like it.

Sino Mining is a six-year-old private company with a novel genesis. Nick Curtis started work in China establishing a subsidiary for CNNC – the China National Non-ferrous Corporation (~1 million employees). With successful transactions came trust, and, not to steal too much of Nick’s thunder, a very neat Australian-controlled gold mining company with profitable gold and nickel production. The Chinese government’s holding of 33% and the balance is owned by US and Australian private investors. And he says Sino got there without ever presenting a red envelope to ‘facilitate’. Despite visible failures like the Zen Resources Ltd’s foray into China, Sino is now producing 110,000 Oz of gold a year and eyeing 400,000 Oz within five years. China produces 175t of gold a year and may not stay the world’s 4th largest producer for long. Nick says he is keen for more Australians to go to China. In fact his other company Lynas Corporation Ltd plans to ship the concentrate from its WA Mt Weld platinum concentrates to China for toll processing. The presentation will illustrate for you ‘how to do it’ in China and if you get interested you could get you in an upcoming Australia-China investment mission to China and travel with all the right contacts and representatives. Many of the deposits are pre-drillied or pre-developed and are held back only by a lack of capital and some expertise. A fascinating success story. Not to be missed!

The Forum is held at the Tattersalls Club at 181 Elizabeth St, Sydney (adjoining the Sheraton on the Park). There has been a relaxation of dress rules at the Tattersalls Club so ties and jackets are no longer required.
