Hi all, just want to start by saying as of joining hotcopper almost a week being a newbie to the charts and ultimately stocks in general, have been keeping up everyday and most points between Perth market hours on the ASX market. Noticed many different people:

I have around 15k in capital and am stuck where to start. Been recommended gold and silver, Vanguard ETF index funds or some hopium 'unicorn' stocks discussed (NYR) by family figures have in the last few years, had reasonably good results in some stocks.
I ask you guys not for advice, just open opinions if you'd like to share thoughts on whether right now is a good time to enter some of these recommendations, or stocks on ASX in general/whether to look at other options. My risk tolerance is low, but I'm not opposed to being in it for the long or the short term if the fundamentals and charts support it whilst watching most credible traders discussion in Short term / Day trading ASX threads. On a side note I do my own research of what I can understand between tools like RSI, volume metrics and charting whilst trying to research a strategy of my own. Even if anyone could recommend platforms as im currently sponsored a LSEG Refinitiv Workspace apart of Curtin University (Finance/financial planning student) that I have access to, aswell as tradingview. Currently using Commsec for all my trades but find it hard to day trade on there with settlement dates? Clearly I need a lot more time to learn in this area but I'm hoping to see for myself. Keep to learn, anything appreciated.
