its been commented that women voters were repelled by Dutton's leadership. meanwhile women now form approx 50% of Lab MPs and they attracted a lot of women to vote for them purely on the strength of women in the Party.
While counting is still underway, the ABC forecasts women will win at least 63 seats, 46 of which will be held by Labor, four by Liberals, three by Nationals and seven by independents.

this election has seen the largest number of women entering parliament in Aus history. but the pathetic number of women allowed to stand in safe or competitive seats is a reflection on the dominance of men in the Libs.
even the branch executive levels have around 25% women. Young Liberals have even less women membership.
clearly the Liberal Party is stuck in the 1960s indifference to female representation.
so what will, or can, the Libs do about attracting more women into their Party and become MPs?
