I'm a Liberal voter and hold a Masters of Economics and whilst the removal of the franking credits will impact my parents and my in-laws it has to be one of the dumbest policies ever. It was brought in to win votes and ended up creating a monster and should have been ditched years ago.

Am I likely to be a great beneficiary of it in the future? Yes absolutely. Am I smart enough to think beyond my own selfish needs and consider the greater good? Yes I can.

Anyone who supports franking credits either doesn't understand them and the rort they have created or is just trying to preserve their own personal benefit or that of someone close to them. Note that isn't a terrible thing, but Governments don't govern for an individual.

Also, am I nervous about Labor getting in? Yes I am but truth be told, the Liberal Government has bounced from one disgrace to another the past few years so I actually think they don't deserve another crack at it.
