    First Mining Results-3737 Diamonds Recovered

    NRW Mining Contractors commenced mining on Pipe 9 on 1 July 2002 and
    are currently mining Block 5. A mining block measures 25 sqm X 3m
    deep. The average grade for Pipe 9 was estimated to be 10.3 carats
    per hundred tonnes with an average diamond size of 0.24 carats.

    Kimberley is pleased to announce the final results for Block 0 and
    Block 1 which are as follows:

    Combined results from Block 0 and Block 1 have averaged a grade of
    14.98 cpht and yielded an average diamond weight of 0.285 carats,
    being 45% higher in grade and 19% higher in weight (which relates
    directly to value) as compared to the Feasibility Study for Pipe 9.

    The lead time between mining a block to final diamond results is
    approximately three weeks. The next diamond sale, representing July
    production, is scheduled to take place in the last week of August
    2002.

    Kimberley regards these results as an excellent start to its mining
    operations.
