Just some thoughts ....

    Tianqi
    - substantial ownership (and 2 directors) in Nemaska Lithium - Canada
    there are plans to establish factory
    - outright ownership of Talison Lithium - Australia
    there have been (are?) plans to establish factory
    - acquisition of GXY's Jiangsu plant
    ?does it make sense to process local (China consolidated mining ops) feedstock - YES/YES - but may have capacity problem (may need substantial upgrades)
    ?does it make sense to ship Nemaska feedstock - NO/NO
    ?does it make sense to ship WA/Greenbush feedstock - NO/maybe
    ?does it make sense to ship Mt. Cattlin feedstock - maybe/NO, not with a Talison JV plant

    I fear that this new agreement won't be the last as far as Jiangsu is concerned.
    To me it looks like that Tianqi is positioning themselves to become a major major player and GXY is moved around to fit into a larger the picture. Unfortunately, we don't know how the picture is going to look. It is worthwhile to note that Tianqi is in trading halt (since 2 weeks I believe, even before GXY went into; Shenzhen:002466).

    And with SdV having the KORES cloud hanging over it doesn't help GXY either.
