Hi oorain
The story that the retired seniors are costing too much money IMHO is almost an urban myth used as an excuse to import more migrants.
One of my problems is that for the last 25 years we have been importing older people who did a few years of work (some never worked) and are now at the retiring age, so like the increasing crime we are importing our problems, so do the maths, the figures do not support this assumption, never have.
Australia allows more migrants to come here that almost any country in the world.
The the subject of robotics --- In not so many years there will be minimal work available as most of it will be able to be done by machines, so our money would be better spent in importing robotics and the technology to build them and not bother with any more people.
There is a ever increasing number of people who can't get full time work
So it is not too hard to choose who should come here, the majority of the population can answer that question it is so obvious, and it's not the ones who are coming now.
