hey, financial planners

I have just completed my Diploma, and am wondering what to do next. I had a financial planner tell me that technicly you dont need a licence to call yourself a financial planner. Is this right?
Ideally I would like to run my own show, but building a client base isnt that easy.

How do you get started?
How do you get a licence?
Anyone know about these franchises?
Is there some stuff I can do without a licence? (was gonna start a school for budding option traders)
