I have tried to research this, but cannot find a site where the requirements are clearly explained.
    The Questions:
When someone dies and leaves a will, all property and monies not held in joint names with the beneficiary of the will must go to probate. This is what I have been told.Is this correct?

Is it correct that this probate process can take years even with a clear will leaving all to one beneficiary?

Is this "probate" process uniform from state to state, or does it vary according to state?

    What are the costs?

Any help appreciated, 'cause I havent a clue.
