HDR- Whats really going on?

A number of people on Hot Copper have rationalized that a London newspaper article was responsible for the large volumes and volatile price in recent days, surely this can't be the reason, something is in the wind.

The early release of the Rig is feasible, however this was three days ago and as yet no articles on the rig anywhere. Seems a likely reason.

Funds getting back into HDR after realising profits pre 30th June, also feasible, but would this cause such a rush?

USA discussions about reliance on Saudi Arabia? was Mauritania mentioned? Perhaps, the timing was right.

    Also Shell is hungry lately.

All questionable theories I know, but worthy of discussion, does anyone else have an opinion

    Regards
