    Hairdresser stalked, court told

A FINANCIAL adviser stalked his hairdresser because he was depressed with glandular fever, a court heard yesterday.

Graeme Finn, 36, phoned his female hairdresser 53 times between January and April 2000, Melbourne Magistrates' Court was told.
The court heard Mr Finn made the explicit sexual calls in the hope of striking up a friendship with the woman, who was distressed by the calls and feared for her safety.

The Geelong father of three got the woman's number from her salon under the guise of being an old friend.

Mr Finn pleaded guilty to stalking another person.

Lawyer Michael Kuzilny, for Mr Finn, told the court his client had been married for 14 years and was too embarrassed about the charge to tell his wife.

Magistrate Noel Purcell said stalking was a very frightening experience and told Mr Finn to better prepare his case or face jail.

"He's going to have to face the reality of life, otherwise he's going to go out to Laverton for a holiday," Mr Purcell said.

The case was adjourned until July 19.
