...I've misplaced them all! Big deal! We're getting more and more seppo-like every day (though this bunch's been like this since the wedgie had introduced the "honesty in Government" policy, at the beginning of his first term! Honesty my bum!)

    Dissent bid over 'Calamity De-Anne'

The House of Representatives has again descended into uproar with the Opposition moving a dissent motion against the Deputy Speaker.

During the past week, Labor has moved two dissent motions against the Speaker, David Hawker.

They have argued Mr Hawker is biased and has made mistakes in his rulings.

The Opposition today accused the Deputy Speaker, the Nationals Ian Causley, of covering up for a Minister.

Mr Causley intervened when an Labor Party frontbencher called the Veterans Affairs Minister "Calamity De-Anne" for approving a grant for a regional project outside her portfolio.

Opposition Leader Mark Latham told Parliament the criticism of the Minister was appropriate.

"He had every right to attack her," he said.

"We are not here for a haircut, we are not here for some mutual gratification society, we are not here for a stroll in the rose garden, we are not here to pat her on the back and say, 'Good on you De-Anne, you have rorted the programs'."

The Government used its numbers to defeat the motion.
