Two things: Demand for electric long-haul trucks (with big batteries) are experiencing high demand in China. Source: Bloomberg.
And Ford is building a new, smaller EV ute (not an F 100 Lightening) for $30,000 and a line of other EV models because their CEO Farley predicts that China's EV entry into America is a certainty in the near future, and he wants to be ready. Source: Bloomberg.

Just the Chinese EV truck demand, slated to be 60% of the fleet by 2035, will require a mother load of lithium for the next decade. America's Tesla EV big-rigs will follow along with the rest of the world of haulage transport.

It's a case of third time unlucky for traditional FF security worldwide, and governments have learnt their lesson - slow learners that they are. The good news is that now there is a viable alternative for the entire terrestrial transport sector to at least ameliorate any future oil shocks.
