go ahead to mine gold

Arafura Resources Limited (ASX:ARU) has received approval from the
Department of the Environment and Water Resources (Australian
Government) to mine recoverable mineral resources (gold) at the
Mt Porter Gold Project.
The Mt Porter Gold project contains 34,200 oz of relatively high
grade gold and is located 15km from the Union Reefs mill in the Pine
Creek district of the Northern Territory approximately 165km
south east of Darwin.
The Project required assessment and approval under the
Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 for
potential impacts on listed threatened species and ecological
communities, on listed migratory species, and on the Kakadu National
Park World Heritage Area.
Alistair Stephens, Managing Director of Arafura Resources, said,
"This approval represents a significant milestone in the development of
the Mt Porter resource. Assessment of opportunities to develop the mine
will now be carried out."
