Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) RFI: Separated REOs
First off, credit goes to old mate, Steve_Zissouu2 for this gem of a find.
Defense Logistics Agency has quitely sent out a Request For Information (RFI) to companies that can separate Rare Earth Oxides (REO): https://sam.gov/workspace/contract/opp/066eae6710544606a2140b7ea2af277b/view?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email. First page of the RFI is included below.
The key points are:
12.6 tonnes of mixed REOs supplied by the US governmentNeeds individual separated oxidesHigh-purity requirements (99.5% → 99.99%)Focus on CONUS capability and near-term deliveryDefence / strategic supply chain driven
IXR's applicability (as most of us know):
- Already operates a separation facility (Belfast) via their pilot plant
- Has demonstrated individual oxide separation to the required purity
- Is actively pursuing US deployment via USSM, Missouri
- ...the RFI looks as if it was copied straight out of Tim's pitch deck.
Key Action: IXR best be on it. If not, those you have their phone number...get them on it.
Page 1 of the attached RFI explains some of the above in detail (go to the link and see attachments if you want to read the whole thing):Responses must be received by February 11, 2026, 12:00 PM EST. Let's pray that the boys are already on top of this.
Interesting times ladies and gentlemen.![]()
