    The partnership also aligns with Executive Order 14241 ("Immediate Measures to Increase American Mineral Production"), which mandates aggressive expansion of domestic mineral production and directs multiple federal agencies to prioritize mineral production through Defense Production Act authorities and other mechanisms.


    The MOU enables deployment of IXRʼs patented Ionic Technologies magnet recycling technology—the same MAIL IP process proven in the UK—for rapid, commercial-scale production of high-purity, separated rare earth oxides REOs in America

    Ionic Rare Earths (IXR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Missouri-based US Strategic Metals (USSM), marking a significant new step for IXR's business strategy and international expansion. The agreement enables IXR to deliver its patented Ionic Technologies rare earth magnet recycling technology into the United States through the USSM’s fully permitted site in Missouri, targeting rapid commercial production of high-purity rare earth oxides (REOs) from recycled permanent magnets and potentially from mixed rare earth carbonate feeds in future phases.

    US Magnet Recycling Entry: IXR gains a toehold in the US magnet recycling market, partnering with a vertically integrated US critical minerals processor, which aligns both with American supply chain security goals and Australia’s strategic initiatives.

    Technology Deployment in Missouri: The initial phase focuses on deploying IXR’s patented tech for recycling Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) and Samarium-Cobalt (SmCo) magnets, with the aim of producing key REOs such as NdPr (Neodymium-Praseodymium), and crucial heavy rare earths (Dy, Tb, Sm, Gd, Ho) that are generally limited to China-dominated supply chains.

    The MOU explicitly states both companies will "pursue opportunities for strategic funding, technology development and supply chain collaboration consistent with U.S.-Australia critical minerals cooperation framework". This specific language indicates, a substantially stronger pathway to rapid government funding than typical mining projects face.
