    RIO TINTO (RIO) down $1.14 to $34.85: Australian and Indonesian
    coal production fell 4 per cent for the September quarter when compared
    with the third quarter of 2002. Iron ore shipments from Hamersley were
    also lower, despite the market remaining strong.

    GINDALBIE GOLD (GBG) up 7.5c to 25.5c: Made a high-grade gold
    discovery at the Bobby McGee prospect on its fully-owned Mt Mulgine
    property, 35km south of the Minjar treatment plant in WA.

    ELECTRO OPTIC SYSTEMS (EOS) down 7c to $2.65: Climbed 12c
    yesterday before announcing it had been offered a START Research and
    Development Grant by the Federal Government, valued at $8.3 million, to
    research the use of highpowered lasers for the removal of debris from

    SIBERIA MINING CORP (SIB) down 11c to $1.07: Kanowna Lights has
    signed an agreement to farm into Siberia's Scotia Nickel Project and
    earn an interest in the nickel minerals of the project tenements. All
    gold and silver within the tenements remain the property of Siberia.
    Kanowna Lights was down 0.3c to 2.9c.

    CONQUEST MINING (CQT) down 3.5c to 40c: Gained 14c over the
    previous four trading days after announcing it would pursue an
    aggressive exploration program at the Crush Creek Project, Queensland.
    The company today announced it had completed the first stage of the
    drilling program at its Kimberley Diamond projects.

    GRADIPORE (GDP) down 9c to 45c: Before being placed in a trading
    halt pending an announcement. It told the annual meeting the past year's
    performance had been disappointing, and that due to depleted funds it
    would need to raise capital over the next 12 to 18 months.
