Hi everyone. I read an interesting article in Active trader over the weekend. I'm sure a lot of us use gaps as a tool in charting and i was always unsure whether gaps always got filled or not. In the article, which was more of a trading system using gaps as the trigger, they followed 18 large US companies over 10 years. During this period 62 gaps occured(on an inter-day basis) and 50 where closed afetr 10 years. That amounts to an 80% rate of gap filling.

This is not to say that the gaps wouldn't have been filled but for arguments sake i would think 80%is a good number.
