    More fuel enters Zambia
MORE fuel has continued to enter Zambia through Nakonde border post in Northern Province to cushion the shortage of the commodity that has hit some parts of the country.

Over 594 000 litres of fuel from 18 tankers were cleared yesterday while 462 000 litres of the same commodity from 14 tankers were cleared on Wednesday afternoon en route to Lusaka and the Copperbelt.

Tanker drivers talked to by ZIS at Nakonde border said they had no problems in delivering fuel to Zambia adding that the process of clearing from both Tanzanian and Zambian sides had improved tremendously.

By Press time eight more fuel tankers were seen undergoing dipping on the Tanzanian side where authorities were ensuring that no fuel tanker entered Zambia without being dipped to avoid unscrupulous people from bringing mere water into Zambia after selling the fuel in Tanzania.

Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) senior collector at the border town of Tunduma in Tanzania Mosi Gamliel, last week told Energy Deputy Minister Alex Musanya, that the flow of fuel from that side had improved of late.--Zana/ZIS
