    True. There have been egregious abuses of the franking credit refunds because incompetent rule making allowed the loophole to exist in the first instance. A simple upper limit of the cash refunds would have done the trick or some variation based on the $1.6M balance.

    The concept of fairness in retirement as explained by a politician who will be on a defined benefits pension of 85% of his last salary plus assorted medical and travel benefits the rest of us can only dream of is laughable.
