IG have been the dominant player in Australia since 2004. CMC used to be the largest CFD broker, owning 66% of the CFD business, but back in the early days.

IG have continued to go from strength to strength. They are really committed to offering a wide range of products so you can trade anything at any time. They even offer some indices out of hours.

You may want to view a comprehensive review on IG here: http://www.learncfds.com/ig-broker-review/ The review covers everything from platforms to commissions, spreads and access to markets.

CMC Markets spent $100million on their trading platform 'Tracker' and it has all the bells and whistles. One of the most subtle and useful features of CMC is the ability to bring up a product and see the trading times, spreads and commissions. So simple, yet few brokers do this. Especially those who offer MT4. There just isn't the provision for that. You can read a comprehensive CMC review here http://www.learncfds.com/cmc-markets-broker-review/

Another great aspect of both CMC and IG are their analysts. Michael McCarthy and Ric Spooner at CMC are first class, as is Chris Weston at IG.

    Hope that helps.
    Ash.
