Having recently visited a friend in Malaysia who works in the Petronas towers and having discussed the bio refining environment it is apparent that the Malaysian govt have pledged to commit significant funding to the addition of biofuel initiatives.

With an update well overdue on Leaf's Malaysia progress it is worth revisiting a few old notes

    "Malaysian Government
Claeris’ reputation and market reach opened doors to the Malaysian government, and in October, Leaf Developments signed agreements with agencies of the federal and state governments in Malaysia to advance the development of at least one commercial-scale, second generation, bio-chemical production facility which will utilise our GlycellTM process (ASX October 25, 2016). The partnership with the Malaysian Government and the contribution of our development partner Claeris are providing us with access to local knowledge and contacts that have enabled us to progress this opportunity at a rapid rate. The potential benefits of developing a project in Malaysia are compelling with abundant biomass available, sites near deep water ports and a government that will actively support and promote a bio-industry. We look forward to pursuing this opportunity with the Malaysian Government over the coming year."

"Leaf have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Agensi Inovasi Malaysia a government body aimed at developing the bio-economy plus a letter of Facilitation and Collaboration with the Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation.
Leaf Development the joint development entity between Leaf and Claeris, will lead the development efforts in Malaysia in conjunction with both AIM and MBDC. Leaf Development has a mandate to develop up to five commercial-scale projects around the world and these milestone documents with the Malaysian agencies mark a significant advancement towards the development of bio-chemical production facilities that incorporate the Glycell process."

"Valuation: Substantial global potential The Glycell process has enormous valuation upside because of its potential global application. Our valuations are based on access fees and royalties linked to gross profit. Significant extra value could be created through the potential for direct ownership of assets in joint ventures. In the mid-range of our royalty assumptions, we calculate a valuation of A$1.45 per share. Incorporating a lignin coproduct, the valuation rises to $4.95/share. If a glycerol coproduct is produced, the valuation is A$6.29. This demonstrates the upside of coproducts, some of which will provide feedstocks for the expansion of bio-based products into new growth areas."
