couldn't help but over hear the mobile conversation
received by a leggy blonde business executive coming home from the footy late one friday night
it went something like this:
ah what?
pivot
no it hasn't got to that stage yet!!!!!!
elders is going to buy it ?????????????????????????????
blah blah blah blah (girl talk)
interesting when you think of the recent afr press
article on incitec(last wednesday) allegedly making scrip offer to pivot shareholders most of whom are farmers with no market to sell stock into and exit positon for being loyal customers
more interesting when you consider who owns incitec
orica has supposedly some 76% of incitec, and futuris has about 21% of incitec and 2.5% plus of orica ( as fcl have been a buyer last year from $4.50 in the stock)
given the current drought conditions farmers are suffering maybe a cash offer is as good a time as any
to buy a fertilizer competitor out of the market
fcl owns reportedly 40% aac,100%air international 100% elders
elders colours are red & white
so too are pivots
whats more, the share registries keeeping track of both types of holdings fcl scrip and pivot farmers shares are both managed by 'COMPUTERSHARE'
it all makes sense!!!
but only time will tell
one things for sure whatever happens in terms of rationalisation in the fertilizer industry(and who knows when that will be?) fcl will be involved
a play for pivot by elders could be just the start that young Les needs in his new ceo role @ fcl
fcl is reportedly cashed up and a move from corporate to ceo role by Les might see him looking to get some early runs on the board
nothing does more for ones own credibility than a succesful corporate play
but even if a pivot play was pulled off (provided ACCC ok of course) then it's likely to albeit revenue nutral for fcl anyway
high = 2.60 low = 1.05
nta = 80 cents yielding about 5% plus
dividend = 8 cents approximately
i'd be interested to hear of others opinions as to if this stock should be re rated
the instos should have facted in how fcl report their earnings by now
