I recall a unit of study called Quantitative Economics. Oh, this will be fine thinks I. I like Economics. I had taken no regard for the word "Quantitative". It was based on the representation of variables within a form of Algebra called "Vector Analysis". For six months, the lecturer covered multiple blackboard with vertical and hortizontally displayed "vectors" of numbers and talked as he went explaining how they were relevant in understanding Keynesian economics. Sheeesh. 'Twas a nightmare. I spent many hours in the library attempting to find ways of understanding his lecturers. I had left school after Year 10 and only completed further studies by correspondence, in order to get into University. Mathematics at any respectable level was never offered at the school I had attended. Very steep learning curve for me and very many hours of study. Was it worth it? Yes!!!!!!!!!! I loved study.
