Well, the electric motors are between 93% efficient (a/c induction motors, Tesla X and S) and 97% efficient (all the others) so there’s not much room for technological improvement there. Li batteries have fallen 90% in price, and increased the kW/kg ratio too - not much room for improvement there either. Since 1832 the issue with electric cars has been battery cost. Despite all the advancements, EVs cost two and a half times their ICE equivalent. Until we have another quantum leap forward in battery technology akin to those in 1860 (lead acid) the forties (NiCad)and the seventies (Li) I can’t see the EV technology driving anything except more CO2 emissions.
Quantum leaps only come from hard work and luck. Especially luck. I don’t see that as a logical basis to push on into the unknown.
