Manufacturer.....................................Revenue.............................tax paid.........................% of Revenue tax
General Motors (GMH) .....................$3,704,748,755...................nil.......................................nil
Ford.....................................................$2,496,821,478..................nil.......................................nil
Toyota.................................................$10,195,080,554...........$150,884,361...........................1.48
BMW...................................................$2,261,474,636.............$51,763,128.............................2.29
If Ford, GM & Toyota paid the same % of revenue tax that BMW paid then:
GM would have paid..................$84,838,746
Ford would have paid................$57,177,212
Toyota......................................$233,467,345
Total.........................................$375,483,303
Amount paid by Toyota...........$150,884,361
Balance....................................$224,598,942 (Had our 3 manufacturers paid the same % of revenue that BMW paid, then
the ATO would have collected an extra $224,598,942.
All three were major importers of vehicles, parts etc while manufacturing/assembling in Aus and let us now hope that
when they are no longer financially lumbered by Aussie factories, that they will pay normal tax.
