As of 2014, there were 1.2 BILLION cars in the world.
They all have a lifespan, not sure what the average life is,but at a guess fifteen years.
I can't imagine they will be parked up and left to rot in preference to an electric vehicle.
There are approx 1.2 mill electric or electric hybrids currently on the road.
IMO they would need to improve batteries substantially to have any hope of mass appeal.
Not to mention the doubling of all electricity generation around the planet to supply the energy needed.
I don't think the combustion engine will be going anywhere soon.
