It's a good question but very subjective. Everyone has their own thresholds and risk appetite. But the key metrics are:

- At $5 the MC of CYL is approximately $1.25bn.
- $250m cash in the bank. (Not a fact but a reasonable guesstimate as at 30th June).
- Current quarterly production is probably around 25k oz without Henty.
- However with the new zones on-line, this will jump to 30k oz very quickly.
- And clear pathway to further increased production over the next 12 months onwards.

Given the above, it is fair to suggest that the annual profit equivalent will conservatively be around $300m currently.

5x earnings appears to be fair valuation for gold sector?

So on current numbers only, CYL should be worth $1.75bn MC (5x profit + cash in the bank).

This $1.75bn excludes:
- all the upside potential of the clear path to 200k oz per year production.
- the reduced AISC associated with increased mill utilisation.
- the enterprise value of the physical infrastructure
- the Victoria assets
- the 20% stake in KAU

$5 seems VERY cheap to me. Despite also being overweight CYL stock, I'll likely be buying some more around these levels.

This is all my own back of the envelope assessment, I am not an expert so please do your own research. But please do add any thoughts and opinions, the more information the better!

Hi Lorderyall.
Agree with all your points however;
1. By profit do you mean EBIT?
2. By company value i prefer to use EV which factors in net cash giving EV of about $1B.
3. Multiple for EV is approx 3.3 x EBIT

I agree this does seem very cheap. Despite already having a lot of CYL (bought much cheaper some time ago) I will be inclined to top up below $5.

Somebody is selling. My only concern is what they know that I dont?
