I really can’t listen to this constant complaining about the relatively high cash balance on Clinuvel’s account anymore.
Just look around: interest rates are rising, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for companies — including those in the biotech sector — to obtain capital at reasonable rates.
Yet on the forums people keep whining that Clinuvel has such a comfortable cash buffer.
People, wake up.
Clinuvel is working on several research projects and is currently in a major, decisive Phase 3 trial for vitiligo.
Based on the research I’ve done, Clinuvel has a very good chance that this extremely important Phase 3 study will deliver very convincing results in the second half of 2025.
If that happens, the share price could explode upward.
However, further market rollout and continued research will require a significant amount of money and capital.
We are currently in a crucial phase for Clinuvel.
The Phase 3 study is nearly completed, and fortunately the company already belongs to the roughly 2% of all biotech companies worldwide that generate sustainable profits.
In my view, it’s only responsible that Clinuvel has built up this substantial cash buffer over the past few years, rather than potentially having to rely on expensive external financing during this decisive stage.
Sure, the cash reserve could be somewhat smaller and shareholders might have received a higher dividend instead.
But is that really so important for a long-term investor?
Clinuvel is on the verge of bringing the first whole-body therapy for vitiligo to market.
That gives the stock real potential to multiply in value.
In that context, having a large financial cushion already sitting in the bank should be seen as a positive, not a problem.
