Counter-terrorism officers dispatched overseas after terror arrests

Counter-terrorism officers have been dispatched overseas to continue investigations after two people were arrested over an alleged ISIL-inspired terror plot in Sydney.

Police and a prayer hall were among the targets uncovered by investigations into alleged terrorists Omar Al-Kutobi, 24, and Mohammad Kiad, 25.

The pair were arrested at their western Sydney home on Tuesday and charged with terrorism offences, just hours before they allegedly planned to carry out an attack.

It is understood the pair will likely apply for bail next month.
