re: market is over $1 billion Hi Munch,

Interesting times ahead in the Bio sector, see todays article in the "Australian" business section, undoubtably CCE has started to attract some serious attention lately, lots happening it seems, turnover has gone through the roof compared to only two months ago, I took this off CCE,s website as an example---

    C3's Innovations
C3 has taken CEA technology and developed it, with several major proprietary innovations

C3 has the ability to rapidly culture skin in as little as five (5) days in comparison with the traditional 14-21 day timeframe. This is important, because a wound taking 10 days to heal has a 4% risk of developing hypertrophic scaring. For a wound taking 21 days to heal, the hypertrophic scar risk increases to well over 70%. The morbidity and mortality associated with prolonged healing times in major body surface area burn injury has been the impetus for the expanding field of tissue engineered products for skin regeneration.
C3 can develop a cultured, cellular suspension of skin cells as opposed to sheets of skin. This means that the cells can be easily applied to a range of body areas that would otherwise be quite difficult - such as soles, underarms and palms.
C3 has also created an aerosol delivery system for spraying on the cellular suspension, which means the products are very easily and rapidly applied.
C3 has developed a 48 hour turn around service whereby a large quantity of cells can be harvested from a modest sized biopsy and delivered as a cell suspension. This laboratory prepared product is designed to provide autologous cells for the treatment of wounds up to approximately 20% total body surface area (i.e.: backs of two adult legs). Such a quick turnaround can facilitate the rapid treatment of patients who experience a delay in hospitalization (such as the Bali burn victims) or those patients do not require hospitalization for the minimum 5 days required for cultured cell suspensions.
C3 has developed a technique for improving the success of Integra® Dermal Regeneration Template, used in the treatment of full thickness burns and scar reconstructions. Integra® takes 3-4 weeks to form a mature 'neodermis' and then traditional meshed skin grafts are applied. C3's cultured and non-cultured cell suspensions can then be sprayed onto these grafted areas to help promote rapid healing, protect the newly formed dermis and reduce the mesh-like pattern from the skin grafts.
C3 has developed an 'off the shelf' medical device kit for harvesting cells for rapid skin replacement procedures enabling treatments of small wounds to be undertaken in the clinic avoiding the need for an expensive hospital stay.

"These innovations in CEA technology have been so successful that they are now the 'standard of care' for burn patients in Western Australia. They also form the basis of our Intellectual Property which is protected by various patents, trade secrets and trademarks."
