    NTA performance is the measure of how well the LIC portfolio is actually performing.  If it were
    an unlisted entity ( ie a managed fund ) then the unit price would follow exactly in line with NTA.

    but whether the market agrees and likes it and makes the share price follow is a different matter.
    these are listed companies and the market can do what it likes with the share price.
    for example,  the market may not like something about the manager,  the performance fees,
    the investment strategy etc,  regardless of movements in NTA.  
    conversely if the market really likes the manager, the share price will trade at premium to NTA,
    such as the WAM  LIC's.
