I have asked comsec that same question before and they wouldn't tell me because they said that it constituted "Financial Advice". So I asked a friend of a friend of mine and he suggested that because of the capital gain implications from basically buying your own shares off yourself in an off market transfer and the hullabaloo you would need to go through to change bank account details, it MAY be a whole lot easier to liquidate all shares etc first which will leave the customer with an empty broker account, start up a new broker and bank account in the joint names, transfer all money from old to new bank account then close old brokerage and bank accounts. .. Clean break and a fresh start.... I still haven't done it .... Hope this helps...
