Good morning, Eagle.
Agreed, there can not be any compromise on animal cruelty.
I don't care how many people are going to lose money, how many people are going to be inconvenienced, or how many people say it is not our place to impose our values on third-world countries.
This is NOT a political argument, it is a matter of principle.
In earlier times, I have worked at some of Australia's biggest meat-works, including the CQME. I can attest to the proper procedures being in place, and can report that whenever I saw what I thought was animal cruelty (nothing, compared to what we have been confronted with, recently) I reported it, and my report was acted upon.
I don't agree, for one moment, with those who say that human/human cruelty issues should come first and where are our priorities. Our priority should be NOT to abuse our power over defenceless creatures, and after that perhaps we can start to think about our treatment of each other.
