    All good arguments folks really.

I would like to add just one thing, well a few things under one banner.

It is not ripping anyone off least of all the taxpayers.

The traidy and the customer will both save money and most if not all that money will go back into the economy in the form of GST and other taxes or back into their small business in the case of the traidy.

The traidy buys all the materials and pays GST.
If the job is to big enough then the local council will have to give its permission after looking at plans either hand drawn as in a shed or similar sized job and the council will charge for their services.
The person delivering the goods if they are an employee of the building supplies company will pay tax on his wages. The company will pay their GST to the government etc. If the delivery person is self employed then that person will pay tax etc.

Everyone concerned will put most of if not all that money back into the economy in some way and usually within a couple of months.

Q: Do any of these people put this saved money into an offshore bank account in one of these tax havens?
Does big business put their money into offshore accounts in tax haven countries and do they price shift their goods and taxes as explained by GO NUKE.

Nobody is getting ripped off. Its just the money is going directly into the economy instead of through the hands of the Government shop front for big business.
