    At 6.6%, China's GDP has grown at the slowest rate in 29 years. Or has it? People have been sceptical about China's economic figures for ages, not because of deliberate falsification but because they relied on doubtful figures from the various regions.. Maybe they have just started getting them right.

    However, as Glenn Dyer from Share Café points out, the figure is in line with the govt target for the past year. And a similar figure is posted for 2019.

    Main factors appear to be falling prices in steel products, coal production and slowing housing sector.
