Charter Pacific is pleased to announce the first commercial licence of its biometric technology in the United States.

The company has reached agreement with a key player in the touchless ID space – which allows for quick and secure identity confirmation to utilize Charter Pacific’s suite of biometric patents (note that terms and counterparty are confidential).
Charter Pacific recently commenced legal proceedings against Apple and HMD (the company currently holding rights to the Nokia phone brand) in Texas for breach of the company’s patents. While those proceedings continue, Charter Pacific’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Kevin Dart, expects the company to move to secure further technology licenses in Australia and the United States, reflecting growing consumer acceptance of biometric identification – including fingerprint, voice and facial ID.
Biometric Update recently reported that sixty percent of customers surveyed felt safer using biometrics for a purchase than a PIN, while noting that “a billion more contactless transactions were processed by Mastercard during Q1 2021 than in the same period a year earlier”.
