Interesting that the Chevron deal is effective from 30 April. That means that they probably started discussing the deal then or it was wrapped up then and an announcement was awaiting finance approvals. Looking at a chart of its price rise - it started late April (of course the "end" of the Iraq conflict coincides as well) and that's when the large volumes started to go through. The fact that the market response has been fairly muted could indicate that its old news that was already factored in by the big players. Interesting.
