I have now listened to the Brainchip podcast with DeGirum. It is definitely worth the 15 minutes it takes.
The first significant thing to note is that at the AGM Sean Hehir CEO stated that they were working to deliver Cloud access to the AKIDA technology so as to offer the same ease of access that Intel does with Loihi technology to their customers and developers. Working with DeGirum Sean Hehir CEO has delivered on that project.
It also appears from what was said that the DeGirum system is extremely easy to access and use with the claim made it only takes two simple lines of code and five minutes to assess your model running on Brainchip’s technology. Surprisingly to use their system is free and includes access to over 1,000 models created by DeGirum in addition to the models provided by Brainchip.
The most important aspect of DeGirum’s system is that when developers access Brainchip technology they are connecting to AKIDA hardware not to software emulations.
In numerous research papers I have read the researchers have complained that when accessing Intel’s Loihi technology via the Cloud they are accessing it in software and so cannot accurately calculate its performance in hardware.
It was also pleasing to hear that the Brainchip Cloud access is proving popular at this point and that ‘a lot’ of customers of Brainchip have the funds to pay for space on the main floor at CES2025.
Enough from me suffice to say it is a must listen.
