Interesting talk about the Aussie Captaincy over the last few days. Michael Clarke's fitness issues and Steve Smith's efforts in stepping up so strongly with the bat and his sound captaincy have created a quandry for the selectors. It's not hard to see why they are weighing potentially unsettling the side against Clarke's age, back and hamstrings. Always been a fan of Clarke's captaincy and his batting and thought he was very unlucky to have those back issues of his from a young age.
Has James Faulkner thought about taking his batting seriously.? To my mind not to many people in the world hit the ball like he does. Maybe Tassie should bat him at number 4. Who knows, eventually it might be a way into the test team. What sort of a bonus would his bowling be as a top 6 batsman?
