BAE in Typhoon talks with Saudi Arabia-paper
LONDON, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Europe's biggest arms manufacturer, BAE Systems Plc, is in talks with Saudi Arabia about selling it 50 Eurofighter Typhoon warplanes in a deal worth at least $1.5 billion, Britain's The Observer newspaper reported on Sunday. Part of the attraction of the deal for Saudi Arabia is that it may be able to make some of the payment in oil, the paper said.

The Observer also said BAE (LSE: BA.L - news - msgs) is looking to strengthen its ties with Swedish peer Saab AB (Stockholm: SAABb.ST - news) and may raise its stake from the 35 percent acquired three years ago.
