Sold an electrical item on Ebay a few days ago, rather than sending it to landfill. New item, didn't fit where needed. Sold for $119. Around the same price as an ounce of silver. Ebay took their cut, including an extra fee to promote it higher up the listings because it otherwise wasn't getting any traction. It still took six weeks to sell. Then I paid the postage i.e. the so called "Free Postage".
The net to me at the end of the day was $73. A huge discount below "Spot". If coin shops and dealers are running out and desperately short of stock as reported, you'd think a trip into town would yield better results than a nearly 40% EBay haircut.
Skol, the vid posted by Tokyo says, by the way, that Comex vaults are likely to run out of deliverable silver when March becomes the Delivery Month. Not the whole Earth. Earth's fine. Personally I think its just the typical YouTube pile-on. Ideas without merit get amplified on Youtube multiple times to becomes click bait. People keep falling for it.
The month running behind the Delivery Month on Comex is usually where all the fast money plays because that's where the liquidity is. It often works itself out towards the end of Feb when a lot of March Contracts are rolled into a more distant month. Looks like May, followed by July, will become "the new March". It's just what happens. Fast money punters do not want to be in the Delivery Month to risk an unwanted delivery event. They are playing with paper, essentially, not bullion..
Metal in the vault does look a little light on at the moment. Seems to me it will probably resolve. Of course if /when it does, just watch all the pundits cry foul, "JP Morgan blackmailed The Fed and the Government to fix it". Something like that. I can see it coming.
