Hmmm... this week on Business Sunday.

    Announcement hangover for BRL Hardy
Well, the market took a set against BRL Hardy after the release of its 2002 interim result. The concerns took the gloss off what was a solid performance with record revenues for a half, a higher profit and higher dividend.

    Plonk drinking the Foster's business
Analysts and some shareholder fretting at the interim saw Foster's shares weaken and then remain under pressure for months before rallying as markets became more volatile and the company's defensive qualities stood out. Now the company has delivered, with a sharp rise in earnings, payout and more importantly, cash flow, leaving analysts looking silly.

    Hangover for Southcorp brands
Southcorp confounded the sceptics and delivered a solid rise in all measures in the year to June and a good dividend, leaving investors happier than they have been for months.

Brewing business continue to grow earnings
Another solid interim result from Lion Nathan – Australasia's number two brewer – with earnings up 12 percent overall and hopes for more of the same in the coming year.
