breakout patterns

    Is anyone doing any work in pattern recognition with software (like metastock) ?
    Id like to look for pennants, flagpoles, triangles, and any constricted range that might result in a breakout.

    Any formula you might have would save me a lot of work.My software is alomost the same as metastock and uses formula langauge that is excel compatible.
