Bigger blocks don't 'solve' anything long term. They just create more problems. Segwit already increased the blocksize by placing the witness data at the end of the blocks, enabling a full 1MB of transaction data, not including witness data, which will eventually make blocks closer to 1.6 - 1.8MB on average.
